What is new in Nosara? The Salty Pelican – Pub & Inn

Twelve years ago a couple from Georgia (United States) saw a property in Nosara down town. This February Kyle and Terry Christopher bought the property after it  had been abandoned for a while. They cleaned, remodeled and worked hard to give a new life to this place.

The Salty Pelican opened last July, it is a hostal and a restaurant. They have 6 hostal rooms that sleep up to 4 people, $10 a night, with a shared bathroom. Also have 3 private rooms with bathroom and air conditioning; one for 6 people and two for 4 people each, $35 a night.

Regarding the menu they have a southern dish, that after having it two times, has become one of my favorites in town; is called Brunswick Stew. It has pulled pork, beans, potatoes, corn and barbequeue sauce. They also offer pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, french fries, wings and homemade chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Important to know, their most expensive dish costs less than $7.

Besides the hostal and the restaurant, The Salty Pelican offers wi-fi and a game room (Pool table and a futbolin) to their customers. They have affordable prices, because they want people to come to Nosara and experience it not having to pay a $100 a night for a room. They want to be a good option for surfers and backpacker that come to our town.

They chose the name The Salty Pelican because thinking of a sailor that has been sailing the sea for many years, salty means worn by the weather, with scars and that has seen a lot; like this place. Also they love pelicans and wanted to have them on the name.

Qué hay nuevo en Nosara? The Salty Pelican – Bar, Restaurant y Hostal.

The Salty Pelican abrió en Julio.
